Planning Ancillary for Poster/Billboard

Kate, Shushanna and me designed, what will be on the poster and we decided that Kate and Jack were the main focus on the trailer. Kate drew out what we were going to have as a poster.  

But we changed our minds and decided that we wanted to have me and Jack on the poster because our part of the trailer was tense. So Kate drew out our final draft and we went with it.

Emmerdale Trailer

In this trailer there are a lot of fades near the end to build a lot of tension. I decided to get some ideas from this trailer to help bring tensions to mine so that the audience get the tense feeling. Also at the beginning of the trailer they use a phone box and on flashing lights trailer the phone box is also used.

The images that have all the characters on it, we were going to use on the poster, we decided not to, because we wanted to have the main characters on the front page which was Kayleigh and Paul played by Katie Stubbs and Jack Thomas.

However with the other images we took while we were filming, we thought we could use some of these in the magazine. Also some of these images shows us at work, for example jack with the camera and Shushana and Kris acting.

What i need to do was correct the voice level and i needed to make sure that the phone at the end, i need to make it go bang with the music.

By doing the practice anciliary, it gave me a more clearer idea on how i wanted my actual poster to look like

• edit shots of Dallas, the back of Bobby and J.R editing to the J.R sat on the chair to his watch
• the diegitic convocations, " all those fights will bring you oil in south folk, they have wasted everything in our path J.R and for what" title card "MONEY"
• the title cards gives you the idea of the characters establishing
• mise en secne in a big mason with a lot of lights in the room, with expensive wallpaper, edit shots between the two men talking and the title "POWER" comes up  
• the season might have ended in 1991 maybe because of wealth or family fueds
• Bobby " i'm sick and tired of you fighting over money", this shows that Bobby is a good person and his son is going to take his wealth when he passes away
• monatge shows the blips of the characters
• establishing edit shots between their sons talking about power and money
• the music becomes more upbeat when they start to argue
• the music all of a sudden drops and the medium close up of Bobby talking to J.R " i don't want them to be like us" and the medium shot of J.R face, mise en secne looking out of a window on his chair, the room is darkand the light from the window are on them
• the big drumming of the music after their conversation quit montage edit shots of the characters
• the music becomes more stringy when Bobby's son talking to him " my whole life i have been trying to put the union  back on top"
• edit montage shots of the charaters and buildings the music becomes more stringy
• you can see how rich J.R is because of his office
• Ends with J.R talking to his son, " everything that belongs on South Folk is mine and only mine", finishes with "DALLAS" title
